Batman: The Dark Knight

The Dark Knight is the 2nd Batman movie to come out in recent years. It followed Batman Begins. The Dark Knight is a duel between Batman and the evil Joker. The Joker has no boundaries and is completely making havoc in Gothom City. Buildings are blowing up, people are dying, and many others are being blackmailed. The Joker tests people to see whether darkness can cover light. For much of the movie darkness covers light but luckily Gothom City has Batman on their side. Wow, this movie is fantastic. The movie is really long, and the whole time I loved the movie. I wish it was longer. That is how good the movie is. Heath Ledger's portrayal of the Joker is incredible. He is charismatic as he is evil. I would not want to go up against him in a battle. I also love Christian Bales portrayal of batman. He does a wonderful job of being the Dark Knight. This movie receives a A+. This movie raised the bar of how movies should be made.

The Lucky One

The Lucky one stars Zac Efron. The story is about a marine who finds hope through a picture of a woman he finds in Afghanistan. He finds it sitting on the ground when he goes to pick it up, all the soldiers behind him are killed by a bomb. Because of this picture, he is alive today. When he is back him home in Colorado, he tracks down the woman in the picture. He wants to say thanks to her. When he meets her though he can't find the words to tell and instead is employed by her. The Lucky One is a romantic movie that shows things happen for a reason. The Lucky One is a great date movie. If your a guy wondering what do this weekend with your girlfriend, take her to The Lucky One. It is a classic chick flick. To be honest though, the acting is very cheesy. It is hard to take Zac Efron seriously as a hardcore marine. It just doesn't suit him very well. I give the movie a B- rating for these reasons.

Happy Gilmore

Happy Gilmore is one of the first movies that the actor Adam Sandler starred in. It is about a hockey player, named Happy Gilmore, who is actually not very good at hockey. He wants to be in the National Hockey League, but can not even make it into the amateur league of hockey. He is pretty content in life until his grandmother's house is taken away from the IRS. His grandparents built that house and unless Happy can raise over $300,000 in a couple months, his grandmother will lose her house forever. Happy one day makes a bet that he can hit a golf ball further than another guy. This is the first time Happy has ever picked up a golf club, when he hits the ball it goes about 400 yards. No one can beleive it. Happy finds out that he can hit the ball further than pretty much anyone else on the planet. Happy decides to join the pro tour golf tournament and see if he can win enough money to save his grandmothers house. The only thing is if he can control his temper enough to stay on the tour. Happy Gilmore is one of the funniest movies I have ever seen. It is a movie you will quote over and over. The movie came out in the early 1990's and I still hear people quote Happy Gilmore all the time! I rated the movie with a B. The movie lacks good acting and a solid story, but makes it up with solid comedy. This is probably my favorite Adam Sandler movie, And if upon haven't seen it already, you are crazy!

Shawshank Redemption

Shawshank Redemption is a story about about a man who is accused of killing his wife and given a life sentence in jail. Unfortuanately, he was falsely accused. He didn't kill his wife. He loved her but was sidetracked with his job and didn't pay enough attention to her. She cheated on him, and he found out. Because of this the court assumes he must have been the one to kill her. The story is about ow he deals with this burden of being falsely imprisoned. In his first year he doesn't even open his mouth. He is so shocked that this situation has happened to him. He went from a successful banker to a man locked up without hopes and dreams. In the jail he meets a man who becomes his best friend. The two have many life provoking conversations. Shawshank Redemption is an incredible movie. The end has a huge twist that made me almost cry. I rated this movie with an A. The only thing it lacks is action. I don't follow the Oscar award ceremonies but I wouldn't be surprised if Shawshank Redemption won The Best Picture Award from the Oscars. It is one of the movies that you have to show to everyone you know. It will move your soul and can change your outlook on life. Please go see Shawshank Redemption because I promise you will not regret making this choice!

Friday Night Lights

Friday Night Lights is a movie following a high school football team in a small town in the heart of Texas. If you don't know much about a high school football in Texas, Friday Night Lights will teach you everything you need to know about it. High school football in Texas is Intense! It's passionate, and if you don't win, it's heart breaking. Friday Night Lights portrays how much people in Texas care about football. Everyone is at every game. If you win the town will have a parade, if you lose, coaches will be fired and players scrutinized. In Friday Night Lights the teams best football player is injured. He was suppose to take them to win the state finals but now the team has to go on without him. With extreme pressure on the entire team and coach, they must find a way to keep the team winning. Friday Nights Lights is the perfect guy movie. All my my friends who played football are in love with this movie because they can relate with it so well. The movie demonstrates the effort you have to put in to the team in order to win. I loved the movie and it will go down as one of my favorite sport movies of all times.i rate the movie with a B +. One of my favorite parts about the movie is the music. The music is very inspiring and kept me into the movie. The director of Friday Night Lights better of got paid lots of money because he did a fantastic job.

The Count of Monte Cristo

My family and I all watch the Count of Monte Cristo today. The movie is about a man who Is falsely imprisoned for years and he doesn't know why. He is taken from his fiance and family and placed in a cell with no food. Wile there he is tortured mentlly and physically beyond measure. Finally with some luck and skill, he escapes and finds out that his jealous best friend is the one who framed him. You can imagine how he feels being betrayed by his best friend. Not to mention his best friend marries his fiancé while the falsely accused man is in jail. Wow this movie is great. Have you ever seen a movie and just known that everyone you know will love it? That is the kind of movie that the Count of Monte Christo is. It puts a man in the most extreme negative situation he could be in. Without hesitation that man shows courage and determination to seek justice for himself. Im a big fan of people uncovering dark secrets and making light out of it. I know I won't complain ever about injustice that has been to me after watching this movie. Please go see the Count of Monte Cristo! I give this movie an A + in every categorie imaginable.

21 Jump Street

I saw 21 Jump Street last Monday at the dollar theatre. 21 Jump Street is about 2 cops who are new to the force. One was cool in high school but is dumber than rocks. The other cop was a nerd in high school but smart as Einstein on paper. The two are teamed together in this funny comedy. Unfortunately they don't have the most street smarts and they start their careers failing to capture the bad guys. From failing horribly on their first assignment, they are reassigned to a new assignment. They are instructed to go back to high school as undercover cops to unfold a drug seen. This movie is absolutely hilarious. It definitely gets an A from me. I loved this movie because I can relate to their high school experiences. I had flashbacks about my high school experiences that made this move so funny to me. Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum are lovable duo. They complement each other nicely as a typical jock and high school nerd. The movie is very crude though, so I recommend only people 17 and older watch this movie. It is for mature audiences only. For people who don't want to stop laughing, 21 jump street is definitely for you!! From car chases to high school drama, this movie gets An A + in e cool department!

The Knowing

The Knowing is a very suspenseful movie starring Nicholas Cage. The movie is about Cages character who finds a very significant piece of paper. The single piece of paper has been in a time capsule underground for 50 years. On the paper is a series of numbers that has predicted catastrophic events. The paper predicted such events as the attacks on the World Trade Center. Cage uses the series of numbers to find out there are some catastrophic events in the present future. With time racing, Cage must figure out where and why the paper came from. The movie will put you on the edge of your seat the whole time. The movie came out in 2010 but this is the 1st time I've seen it. I gave the movie a B -. I liked how suspenseful the movie the movie is but am not a big fan of the plot. The movie does have a twist at the end that will surprise you, but personally I felt it was too unbelievable to enjoy. If you ranked Nicholas Cage's movie, you would have to this on the bottom half. Compared to such classics as Gone in 60 Seconds, The Knowing struggles. I would recommend this movie to you, but only if you have nothing else to do. There are much better movies out there to see.

Warrior

A few days ago I saw the movie Warrior! I used an exclamation point on the first sentence because I am very excited to speak about Warrior! Warrior is about 2 brothers who grew fighting in Mixed Martial Arts. Both have been gone from the sport for sometime, but when desperation for money occurs, they come back to MMA fighting. The brothers enter into a tournement where the winner receives 5 million dollars! One of the brothers needs money quick or else he will lose his house. The other brother served in Iraq with the Army. While in Iraq, his fellow soldier and best friend is killed in battle. The death of his friend leaves his friend's wife without any income. The brother decides to enter in the MMA tournament, and if he wins, donate all the money to the wife. As you can imagine, this contest is very important to the two brothers, and everyone else in the competition. The movie is full of life lessons as the brothers learn what is most important to them. I loved this movie because it demonstrates, to the highest degree, people doing everything can to reach their goals. Warrior shows how dedication and a motivation can help you reach your potential. I loved Warrior! It is my favorite movie that I have blogged about so far!

The Four Feathers (2002)

The Four feathers is a tremendous movie. I saw it last night with a couple friends. Im a big fan of Heath Ledger, and he didn't disappoint in The Four Feathers. The movie is about a British soldier who resigns the day after he is told his regiment is going to war. As a result he is given four feathers, which are a symbolism of cowardness. The movie is an inspiring tell, as Heath Ledger's character exerts his will to redeem himself from his cowardly act.

My favorite part about the movie is the acts of heroism demonstrated. I won't ruin any of the movie for you, by giving you specifics, but you will leave The Four Feathers feeling uplifted. Please go rent, borrow, or download this movie. Heath Ledger, Wes Bently, and Kate Hudson all do a great job of portraying their characters. Maybe it just me, but watching someone fight for the right reasons is awesome. Im sad that Heath Ledger has passed away because millions of people will miss his brilliant acting. I highly recommend The Four Feathers to everyone!! The Four Feathers is the type of movie that everyone will love. Watch it with your friends and family because you will not regret it!!

Mission Impossible - Ghost Protocol

A week ago I watched, the newly released, Mission Impossible - Ghost Protocol. This is the 4th Mission Impossible movie to come out. The story is intriguing, but as a whole I was completely unimpressed with this installment in the Mission Impossible series. I felt like the actions scenes could have been a little more realistic. I am a huge fan of action, but it seemed like the director of Mission Impossible - Ghost Protocol was trying too hard. I kept having thoughts in my head saying, "this could never happen." Action was the main reason I went to see Ghost Protocol, but I have to rate the action with a C +. Overall, I rate this movie with a C-. Hopefully this will be the last Mission Impossible movie that we will have to endure.

I was, however, a big fan of the first Mission Impossible that came out. It was very original, and the story made my heart jump with excitement. I feel this new installment though, was only intended to make Paramount Pictures loads of money. Tom Cruise is far to old to still be doing these kinds of movies. I have vented enough now, where you all understand how I feel about Mission Impossible - Ghost Protocol, and I will talk to all later in my next review:)

Act of Valor

Act of Valor is a movie that came out a month or 2 ago. I saw it in the dollar theatre last night. Going into the movie I had not heard anything about Act Of Valor. The only reason I was going was because my friend Cole had been dying to see it. I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed Act of Valor. The movie displays a group of soldiers that work together to stop terrorism. Any American who watches the movie will leave feeling full of patriotism. I was so uplifted that part of me wanted to go sign up for the army! The heroism of the characters are incredible! My emotions were at an all time high with the struggles of the soldiers and my inner desire to seem the accomplish there mission. I reccemmend Act of Valor and Label it as a must see!!

This Means War

I loved the Movie This Means War. It is the perfect movie if you are looking to go out on a date. Humor is at an all time high as 2 best friends find out they are both dating the same girl. What makes it more interesting is that the best friend's are also undercover agents who work for the government. The movie is great because you can relate to it so easy if you ever had the same crush as someone else. The movie is full of action scenes that keep you hooked to the movie. The only thing I wasn't a big fan of was some of the dirty humor. I felt like some of it wasn't necessary but overall it was still a great movie! Men if you want to take your girl friend our on a date, This Means War is phemonal and exciting choice that I would reccemmend!!

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring

This movie is tremendous! Since this is my first movie review, I wanted to start it off with a bang by reviewing one of the greatest movies ever (in my opinion). Lord of the Rings has everything a movie needs. The story line is incredible. Coming from J.R. Tolkein's book, the creators of the movie did a fantastic job of making this story in a to full length feature film. If you are a fan of action, as I am, your jaw will drop in amazement! In the movie; hobbits, men, an elf, and a dwarf team up in an agreement to take an evil ring to the enemies hometown of Mordor and destroy it. The hobbit Frodo Baggins is the hero that has the responsibility of holding the ring. Which may seem like an easy task until you find out that the ring has strange powers that can turn the hearts of others into power seeking demons that want to use the ring for themselves. Within there own team of heros is one who wants to steal the ring and use the power for his own gain. The movie is full of symbolism that teaches about what is most important in life. The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring is a powerhouse movie that has a little of something for everyone!
